Recently I have taken a trip to a current exhibition to RCA’s on contemporary art. RCA’s runs a MA course ‘Curating Contempoary Art’ and this was the exhibition of the final work. The show covered a variety of themes, from cybernetics, speculative fiction and language to globalisation. None of these themes relate exactly to my work but the space that the work was exhibited is what interested me the most. It gave me some ideas about how to present my work on the day. Here is some work I enjoyed the most:
What I will take the most from this exhibition is their assessment of space and public involvement within their work, whether this adds to the space or the audience acts as a spectator and only a spectator. Some pieces you were treated as part of the involvement, or the pieces of work which included large-scale projectors which required minimum involvement. Due to the nature of my projector I think the user ability of the internet requires me to need some way of curating that allows the audience to view the work but also become part of user interaction and participation.
